One of the greatest nutritional myths still thriving today is that if we consume excessive amounts of sugar that it will turn to fat. Well you only have to look around at the alarming statistics in the West of overweight and obese people and the extraordinary amounts of sugar we now consume to see that this must be true, after all one plus one equals two, doesn’t it... Well in fact this is not the case. Yes, sugar contributes to overweightness, but it doesn’t turn to fat and doesn’t contribute significantly to body fat stores.
